From Mr. Brac
Dear Friends of St. Francis, Holy Cross and St. Kevin,
We have had a tremendous response for youth group and I could not be more pleased! Thank you to our three parishes for spreading the word. Please keep it up! As the fall activities continue to get busier, be sure to keep youth group on your calendar.
As a reminder, the EDGE (6th-8th) nights are on Wednesdays from 6:30-8pm. The LIFE (high school) nights are on Sundays from 6:30-8pm. As always, all are welcome to join us for the youth Mass at 5:30. I am always looking for students to be involved.
Thank you for all for all of the support. I am looking forward to this new ministry and hope for your continued prayers and support.
Peace and Harmony,
Mr. Jeffrey P. Braconnier
Regional Youth Minister
"The Springfield Youth Ministry does a fantastic job with the kids! My boys are so excited every week to attend the group. When I asked them what they loved about it, they said Mr. Brac's talks and the Core Team. I thought they were going to say the food and snacks! Mr. Braconnier is an asset to our community bringing these kids together from the different parishes in such a positive environment. Also, thank you to those adults who volunteer their time as the Core Team. You are all truly making a difference in these kids lives and for that I am grateful."

"From the very first time we heard about Youth Ministry from Mr. Brac speaking at Sunday Mass, my 12 year old insisted that there was NO WAY he was going. He cited that he already had CCD on Monday nights and didn’t want to go to “2nd CCD” on Wednesday nights. And, besides, he’d miss swim practice. Reluctant was a good word to describe him on that first Wednesday. He loved it! He now skips swim practice every other week so he can go and can’t wait until the season is over so that he can go every week.
My 15 year old did not need any convincing to go to Youth Ministry, and has not been disappointed yet! First of all, there is food. Enough said. But, honestly, I think what he most likes about it is that he feels like he has a voice. Not only in big things, like faith, where everyone is usually telling, not asking, what you should think, but small things too, like Mr. Brac allowing them to play dodgeball.
Having a voice in a trusted community of both peers and adults is something quite lacking, but quite needed for youth of today’s society. I am so grateful that my boys have the opportunity to be a part of it!"

"Thank you Jeff and the rest of the Springfield Youth Ministry CORE team for all that you do for our kids. Sean looks forward to the LIFE nights every Sunday. It’s great that he has an outlet to develop his faith in a new way. He has a lot of fun and enjoys being with friends, old and new. I appreciate that you give them this opportunity."
